41% Drop In Road Fatalities During ROADPOL Safety Days
12 European countries registered ZERO road fatalities at the control day of the 2023 ROADPOL Safety Days campaign.
The news came after final completion of data received from 32 ROADPOL member countries of which 29 took active part in the European Roads Policing Network's flagship annual campaign. It was carried out in the week of 16-22 September with the goal of achieving the ZERO for at least one single day. The results were collected during 2023 ROADPOL Conference and Exhibition in Sofia, Bulgaria, hosted by ROADPOL member, Bulgaria's National Police Chief Directorate.
First Photo Contest To Mark 2023 ROADPOL Safety Days
3 SEP - A photo contest will accompany this years ROADPOL Safety Days (16-22 September) with a ROADPOL jury selecting the best snapshots.
All road users, national and international institutions and NGOs, educational entities from kindergartens to universities, police authorities, private companies and other road safety stake holders are called upon to share their ROADPOL Safety Days events by sharing their best photos promoting promoting road culture and raising awareness of the campaign.
#ZeroMeansLife Unveiled As New ROADPOL Safety Days Hashtag
10 MAY - #Zeromeanslife has been unveiled as the new hashtag to be used for promoting ROADPOL's flagship public awareness campaign – the ROADPOL Safety Days.
The new communication tool to unite and strengthen the campaign's social media presence was presented by ROADPOL's Chief of Operational Working Group Marijke Eskes at the campaign kick-off event carried out at the Bulgarian Police headquarters in Sofia.
2023 ROADPOL Safety Days To Be Launched from Sofia, Bulgaria
9 MAY - ROADPOL's flagship annual campaign - the ROADPOL Safety Days - will be launched from Sofia, Bulgaria tomorrow, May 10th.
The unique campaign of the European Roads Policing Network runs for a week every September. It is dedicated to the Vision Zero approach targetting the eventual reduction of road fatalities in Europe to zero. Each year ROADPOL attempts to engage communities across the continent to prove that if by responsible road behavior fatalities could be reduced to zero for even a single day, there is no obstacle to achieving it on any day to come.

The results were announced at an international press conference in Madrid, Spain, hosted by ROADPOL member, Spain's Guardia Civil.
Safety Days Event Registration Extended Throughout September
15 SEP - ROADPOL Safety Days event registration period is extended throughout the month of September for the first time in 2022.
So far the registration period has been limited only to the extent of the campaign days 16-22 September. As always the peak of the campaign remains in this period coinciding with the European Mobility Week, the flagship annual transportation and mobility event of the European Commission.
2022 ROADPOL Safety Days Launched
4 MAY - Zero road deaths on the roads and streets of Europe are totally achievable.
This was firmly stated by ROADPOL president Volker Orben at a press conference marking the launch of the European Roads Policing Network's flagship annual road safety preventive campaign – the ROADPOL Safety Days. At the event held in Larnaca, Cyprus, and organized by ROADPOL member Cyprus Police, Mr. Orben called on institutions, businesses, NGOs and members of the public from across the continent to support the campaign and help the ZERO to be achieved.
