XIU (I See you) is an organisation run by volunteers campaigning for better safety on the roads for young cyclists.
The organisation was set up in 2008 and since then has gathered members amongst more than 175 secondary schools, where parents, teachers and students all aim for better visibility for cyclists.
By drawing young people’s attention to FLUO in a fun and creative way, XIU hopes to expand the impact for young people of wearing high visibility clothing.
In order to achieve this, XIU is organising a school-based competition. This year it is called the FLUO Challenge and the challenge is for you to create a Fluo Piece of Art. On 26 October, the successful school will host MNN (a national radio station, aimed at a younger audience), who will broadcast a two-hour live edition of Planet De Cock! Furthermore, each participating school member in the organisation will receive a package with cool, eye-catching prizes which can be used to support any school-based actions or campaigns to increase cyclists’ visibility.
Schools can enrol via our website until 25 September 2017. Photos of the Fluo Art Work should be submitted no later than 16 October.
